In celebration of Malaysia Day, Dalat had a long 4-day weekend.
Friday the 12th of September was an enthusiastic day filled with spirits long awaiting their good rest after a tedious week. Collapsed with multiple APs and other college preparations, it was something that I really looked forward to. Planning my weekend by occupying myself with things I hadn’t been able to do for the past few months, my friends and I decided to visit the karaoke.
Recently, the only karaoke at Gurney Plaza was closed, and no other affordable karaoke was available, which came along with three microphones. In search of a karaoke place that met all our expectations, we came across one on 1st Avenue. Assuming the price range according to the price chart, we went to the place.
Traffic, people, and rain. Everything was perfect for a terrible day. As the mall was located at a distant place compared to Gurney, following up with traffic, the Grab fee was much higher than usual. Moreover, the time it took for the Grab driver to pick us up was lengthy.
After a long, tedious journey to the mall, we made our way to the top floor of the place, into the karaoke place. However, unlike our expectations, the price was much higher than usual due to the fact that it was a public holiday that day. Paying about double the normal price, we didn’t spend much time karaokeing. Realizing that the 1st Avenue karaoke was not a good fit for us, we resumed searching for a new, better place.
Sarang Jin (12) said, “I regret going there. By comparing the price ranges of every shop, I should have picked a closer karaoke place with a much more affordable price. Now I know that it is a place we shouldn’t go.”
Agreeing with her, I hope there will be a perfect place for us to relieve our stress through karaoke from college preparations and APs.
