After Sneak Dinner

 By Darryl Dwumfour

It would be an understatement to say that none of us seniors knew what we were getting into when attending the After Sneak Dinner. Jasmine Hassan (12) said, "Before the senior sneak dinner, I didn't know what to expect. For all I knew, it could have turned out to be completely uncoordinated."

However, not only were our expectations met—they were exceeded.

Upon arrival, each Senior had a chance to create their passport. We went through immigration which was just a series of minor questions. After that, we had photos taken to install into our makeshift passports. Once finished with our passports, we walked into the Vintage Chapel where the dinner was being held.

Entering the chapel, we could see pictures of countries around the world hung up. The room represented an airplane with fake windows and a seatbelt sign. Once we were seated, the 'flight attendants" gave us a safety demonstration. After the briefing, we were allowed to eat. The food was the best part of the whole night. There was food from all over the world; kimbap from Korea, Tacos from Mexico, Char Koay Teow from Malaysia, Burgers from America, Butter Chicken Malasa from India, and Fried Rice from Thailand. According to Lauren Worten (12), "The butter chicken masala was bussin." The food was phenomenal, and I would come to any event the Juniors host if it involved food.

After dinner, we played Kahoot which involved facts about our classmates. The most exciting topic was Chris Jang (12), having relatives in North Korea. Later we were served a banana split as dessert. After feasting on our dinner, I had no room for dessert, but as Jay Lohman (12) said, "There is always a second stomach for dessert."

Overall, we seniors had a great time. A quote from Natalie Khor (12) can sum up the night: "It was such a remarkable experience because we went in with low expectations, but were blown away by all the effort that they put into not only decorations but also the food and making the night unforgettable.”
