On
Monday, 11 September, Mr. Kilgo’s seniors headed to the chapel from their Bible
class. Following Mr. Kilgo’s class, Mrs. Allen led her class to the chapel as
well. “Please line up by your height!” said Mr. Kilgo, arranging the students
in order.
Tommy
Han (12) and Chan Woong Won (12) compared their heights, arguing who was
taller, but soon Mr. Kilgo summarized the situation by concluding Han was
slightly taller than Woong Won. Despite some arguments, Shannen Leong (12) and
Elynn Tan (12) easily stood at the tall end of the line.
Jia
Qi Tan (12), who took the second shortest place, commented, “I feel judged by
my height since I am one of the shortest people in the class. But at least I
get to sit down.”
A
picture always captures the memory of every beautiful moment. This year’s
picture day was more significant to the seniors than any they have had before,
as this day was the last picture day they had at Dalat. Some students looked
nervous, while some could not hide their excitement. The chapel, without any
chairs, looked different, and even the lighting the photographers had set
created a different atmosphere. Photographers arranged the students
professionally, asking students at the front line to sit on the long black
chairs they had prepared.
“Flip-Flop!
Please put your legs together and put your hands properly! Yes, that is good,”
said the photographer.
The
heroine of taking this awesome nickname -Flip Flop- was Nathalie Ryan (12), the
new student in our class. “It was great getting a photo with my new grade;
looking around I felt like I knew them more after Sneak. I was surprisingly
okay with the nickname I got as it is funny indeed,” said Ryan.
After
taking students’ group photo, the class sponsors (Ms. Wood, Ms. Ronning, Mr. Chinn
and Mrs. Chinn) joined the photo. Photographers shouted, “Say cheese! Say
pizza! Say smile!” and everyone repeated it with a beautiful smile.
Unfortunately,
Jung En Seo (12) and Ke-erh Huang (12) could not join the group photo since
they had an internship at the hospital. Aidan Frusher (12) and Felix Tobias
(12) could also not participate for a variety of reasons. Although they could
not join the class photo, the Class of 2018 will retain a memory of being
together.
